What is Acupuncture?

acupuncture in Edmonds Acupuncture is an ancient Eastern medicine form that offers gentle, non-invasive healing. By inserting thin needles into certain points along your arms, legs, head, stomach, or back, our acupuncturist can promote wellness and treat certain health conditions.

The needles stimulate the body's energy (or qi), breaking up energy blocks of stagnant qi and clearing the body's pathways so that qi can move freely. By doing this, our acupuncturist can activate your body's inner healing system, ease symptoms of disease, promote immune system health, and address mental and physical health conditions. The needles we use are very thin, so please do not worry that they will hurt. Many of our patients become so relaxed during treatment that they actually fall asleep.

Acupuncture can help many different health conditions, including:

  • Pregnancy/Infertility
  • Menstrual Issues/Painful Periods
  • Post-Natal Care
  • Menopause
  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Migraines/Headaches
  • Digestive Health
  • Acne
  • Weight Loss
  • Anxiety & Stress
  • and many other conditions

The Benefits of Acupuncture with Chiropractic Care

At our Edmonds acupuncture clinic, we like to use acupuncture together with chiropractic treatments to promote fast healing in our patients who need it most. Acupuncture promotes endorphins and can relax the body. We may suggest you come in for an acupuncture treatment before your chiropractic adjustment so that we can perform a deeper adjustment to target neck or back pain.

You can rest assured that both of these healing systems will help return your body to a state of wellness, reduce levels of chronic and acute pain, and promote full body health from the inside out. If you have a health problem and you want treatment, we can work with you to design a treatment program that is gentle, effective, and safe.

What To Expect With Our Edmonds Acupuncturist

During an initial consultation, our Edmonds acupuncturist, Dijana Novak L.Ac, EAMP, can evaluate your concerns, your wellness goals, and your state of health and come up with the best treatment options for you. Dijana’s treatment approach includes acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, Chinese herbal medicine, diet analysis, Qi Gong, and empowering clients to create and maintain their balance with nature and within.

Dijana’s primary focus is the treatment of painful conditions regardless of their etiology. She is especially passionate about helping women achieve and preserve vibrant health through all life stages, applying traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment methods in regulating and supporting menstrual cycle, fertility and pregnancy, post-natal care, happy motherhood, menopause, and healthy aging.

She emphasizes the importance of digestive health, body strength conditioning, and a peaceful mind through supporting her clients in choosing an appropriate diet, proper exercise, and being joyful in everyday life.

We can also explain more fully how acupuncture and chiropractic can treat your specific ailments, so you feel comfortable with the plan of care we have developed for you.  After an acupuncture treatment, you should feel relief from your symptoms. With regular treatments, you should feel better, have fewer health complaints, and also enjoy less stress and more peace of mind.
