Joint Pain

Arthritis does not have to be an inevitable accompaniment to aging. While it may be true that joints tend to "wear out" after a lifetime of use, it is also true that moderate exercise, taking care of your body, and being good to yourself can keep you feeling young and, for the most part, active and healthy. Embracing non-invasive treatment to encourage wellness can go a long way toward alleviating pain and ensuring continued mobility and activity well into those senior years.

Joint Pain Takes Many Forms

Arthritic joint pain manifests in a variety of ways. Unfortunately, the term tends to be used to describe a number of specific painful conditions as well as a general feeling of malaise or stiffness. Our chiropractic practice can treat joint pain, and set you on the path toward lifetime well-being. We do this in a variety of ways, and utilize all the tools at our disposal.

  • Range of Motion Issues: The pain and stiffness of arthritis can be eased with chiropractic care and its complementary therapies, including massage and posture guidance, in additional to diet and nutrition advice. Pain itself can often be lessened through alternating application of heat and cold, rather than by medication.
  • Pain Relief: Individuals experience pain in different ways, and specific pain may be hard to describe. Chiropractic manipulation often reduces stress on nerves and muscles, thereby reducing swelling or pain that has been attributed to an arthritic condition. Electrical stimulation and acupuncture have also been proven effective, and a comprehensive approach can bring relief even to those diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune system disease.
  • Restorative Effects: Dietary and nutritional changes as well as a regular exercise program will benefit both physical well-being and mental health. It is never too late to change habits for the better. Our professional staff will work with you to institute lifestyle changes that assure a better future.
  • Reducing Drug Use: Even over-the-counter pain relief can have less-than-desirable effects over the long term, and prescription arthritis medications frequently produce unwanted side effects as well as having a substantial cost.

More than 100 different conditions are grouped under the umbrella of arthritis. It is impossible to make a blanket statement about them all, or about the benefits of chiropractic treatment. If you suffer from an arthritic condition, or if you are facing possible surgery and would like to explore alternatives, we urge you to consider chiropractic treatment.

The holistic aspect of chiropractic care is not a panacea for all joint disease, and the treatments will not "cure" a condition, but if you have questions about what non-invasive, natural treatment can do for you, we urge you to schedule a consultation with our care providers in Edmonds. We offer an initial chiropractic and wellness consultation free of charge, and we would be happy to discuss all the options with you. Call us today!
